Top Ten Points to Consider:

1)  Partial planning day

2)  All six panels must be completed;
*I suggest folding a piece of paper into thirds and numbering it before working on this project...Panel 3 will be the front cover, "2" is the back panel...see my example!

3)  Two and one-half class periods to complete (subject to change)

4)  Worth 25 TEST points--will print in FULL COLOR!

5)  A minimum of four pictures are required with further requirements being:

a) current picture of self only on cover (must be taken with my $1,300 camera before April 25, 2023--no exceptions)

       b) at least one picture must be from Google images

       c) maximum of three pictures from my $1300 digital camera (one is for the cover)

       d) maximum of ten scanned pictures ****Note to person on the computer with the scanner: you might want to find a different computer because you might be asked to move more often than you'd like.

6)  Five different headings are required; headings must be created with WordArt or Supalogo.com; possible headings include "Bucket List," “My Hero,” “My Role Model,” “My Early Years,” My Future,” “My Favorites,” “About Me,” “Me in a Nutshell,” “Just the Facts,” “The Basics,” “Heroes and Heroines,” “Activities,” “My Family,” “Favorite Hobby,” "Favorite Memory," "Favorite (or Best) Day of my Life," "Most Awesome Vacation," "My Friends," (you may want a group picture, but it must be taken with the $1,300 camera), etc.
***If WordArt bores you, use www.supalogo.com for some cool options!

7)  Information under one heading cannot wrap to a second panel (points will be deducted if this happens); remember, at least three panels must be in paragraph form. Looking for a great grade?  I expect LOTS of typing!

8)  Font size can be from 9- to 14-point!

9)  This is all that is needed and allowed on your front panel:  current picture, first and last name, and one quote.

10)  You may use a background color (or fill effect), but remember, sometimes having a white background looks better/"cleaner."

Graded on:
1)  Spelling/Grammar/Punctuation/Etc. (5 Points)

2)  Pictures (5 Points)

3)  Effort (8 Points)   …your panels should be full of info…

4)  Overall layout; ease to read, interesting, spacing, etc. (9 Points)

*****This project is worth a total of 27 points and will have a large impact on your grade.  Use your time wisely.  That begins with a good plan, limiting your words, and jumping to a different computer when yours is slow or freezes.

Take pride in your work.  If you do, it will show and lead to an outstanding brochure and large point total!

April 8, 2019:  This worked great: on April 1-4 I had a journal entry each day that would eventually become a part of the brochure--filled up 4 of the panels and it was each student's choice for the fifth panel (not including the cover).  I should remind you to type all of your information on your brochure first.  If you start working with pictures and font and color schemes and all of that junk, it will slow you up.  Be mature, get your stuff typed, and then have fun.  I'll be back on Wednesday and I'll show you where your pictures are (if I took them on outside on Friday).  Work hard for your substitute but, more importantly, for YOURSELF! Bye...and thanks for being a great class for me this year!!
