Two Thousand Eleven...The Summer of FIN-skis, Friends & Fun!

5-24-11 New tent from Alco
(May 24, 2011)  I bought my first tent today and set it up all by myself. :)  Four hours later, a cat ripped a hole in the screened area.
5-29-11 Began painting a FIN gun
(May 29, 2011) I began painting a FIN gun to be used with Alex while watching Dolphin games.
5-31-11 I witnessed a beautiful wedding!
(May 31, 2011) Talk about great imaginations!  Rachael, going into eighth grade, along with sister Rhianna, going into fourth grade, put on quite a show for Uncle G!
6-2-11 Alex's first day on the painting clock
(June 2, 2011) Alex's first day with Cantine Painting & Rat Control (at Mrs. Kruger's house)
6-9-11 Alex picked out a great FIN-ski tube
(June 9, 2011) Alex picked out a great tube for the FIN-skis to pull
June 13, 2011 Putting on Dolphin decals
(June 13, 2011) As a FIN FAN, I can't imagine a nicer looking truck that now has two high-quality Dolphin decals adorning it
7-3-11 One of my favorite days of the summer--FIN-skis on Pickeral followed by a huge cheeseburger
(July 3, 2011) What an incredibly fun day!  Perfect temps. Warm and busy lake. A huge cheeseburger followed at The Lodge at Pickeral Lake. GOOD TIMES
7-7-11 Unbelievable
(July 7, 2011) An incredible workday led to the unbelievable completion of the parsonage in LaBolt.  We had no business finishing on this Thursday evening, but we did it.
7-9-11 Camping at Oakwood State Park near Brookings  7-9-11 Great to have family around
(July 9, 2011) Camping was great--the AC did the job--I look forward to many more weekends like this one.
7-17-11 Family at the Brookings Open
(July 17, 2011) I partnered with Matt K in 8.0 doubles and we had a miraculous comeback to advance to the semi-finals.  We lost to eventual runner-ups, Kevin and Scott Cantine.
7-18-11 HOT, HOT, HOT
(July 18, 2011) A nasty heat wave hit the midwest and we suffered at Johnson's house in LaBolt.  Temps in the high 90s and extremely high humidity made for much discomfort.  We ended up taking the next day off.
7-20-11 Waubay Wildlife Refuge Tower
(July 20, 2011) Climbing this tower will give you a nice view of lots of water.
7-20-11 GC atop the tower
(July 20, 2011) Atop the tower in the Waubay Wildlife Refuge
7-20-11 Water
(July 20, 2011) Everything is becoming a lake in this part of the state.
7-20-11 Alex with Uncle Kenny
(July 20, 2011) Alex and Uncle Kenny pose for the camera--not a glamour shot!
7-6-11 Taking care of business at golf clubhouse
(July 26, 2011) The south side of the golf clubhouse proved to be quite the challenge, especially with the slope.
7-26-11 Doors had to be wirebrushed, washed, primed, and painted (2 coats)
(July 26, 2011) Before the doors were painted...

(July 26, 2011) After the doors were painted...
7-29-11 I had a chance to paint some trim on the front!
(July 29, 2011) The meticulous side of painting--getting the trim--on the west side of the clubhouse.
7-29-11 Our last day together (Mr. Dahl to Seattle)
(July 29, 2011) Mr. Dahl had a trip to take (Seattle), so this was our final day of being all together this summer.
8-1-11 Flying into Hot Vegas
(August 1, 2011) This was a view from the plane that I was flying on just seconds away from landing in Las Vegas.  I spent four days with friends and two highlights were eating at In-and-Out Burger and winning $150.00.
8-5-11 DONE FOR THE SUMMER!!!
(August 5, 2011) CR took a picture of me as I rejoiced for it was the end of both the job and the painting summer.  What a Friday!
8-6-11 A magnificent shot
(August 6, 2011) This is the way I dreamed things would work out.  I took nephew Alex and niece Rachael out to Pickeral Lake.  We got on Killer Blue and I pulled them on the tube.  As it began to rain, we headed for the shore.  A warm rain was capped off with a beautiful rainbow (deepest purple I've ever seen in a rainbow).  We killed time on the beach while the rain fell on our heads...and then it was back to the rides.
8-6-11 Alex & Uncle--Best days of our lives
(August 6, 2011) After the rain quit, it was time to head back onto a very clean Pickeral Lake.  After riding, we headed to The Lodge where a big cheeseburger and lots of ketch-up were found.  Thank you Rachael and Alex for such a memorable day.
I made some major changes in my life this past winter and spring with the purchase of my dream ORANGE truck and two awesome FIN-skis!  All of those hot, humid days of painting finally paid off with those three life-changing buys.  Consequently, I experienced a summer like no other.  FUN, profitable and, most importantly, memorable!  The good Lord has definitely blessed me and I am extremely thankful for His gifts.
