This is a real photo postcard (Not a printed lithograph) picturing a

This picture was taken atop the Grant County Review

be found just below the small, black "X" in the middle of the stores on the
right side of the street. |
This goes with the picture to the left. Written
on the back of the photograph,

This picture of Milbank High School was taken in 1906.

The picture above was taken in 1940. Do you know
where it was located? Well, I received this message from Debbie Dietman on
9/19/05:
"Greg – I believe my mother baby sat
for you when you were little (do you have a brother named Kevin?) Her name
was Edith Dobson. I am writing you because I believe I know where the
picture of the high school was taken. It looks a lot like the school where I
went to Kindergarten, and later to 4th through 7th
grades, (about 1960-63.) It was located behind what was then the high school
(and later the middle school.) There was a tunnel that ran between the two
schools. I may be wrong, as I don’t remember there being a dome on the top,
but it did have three stories, the bottom one being partially underground,
and shaped like the school in the photo."
Thanks for the info, Debbie!! |
