Decision Making/Problem Solving
 (Pursuit of Excellence)

Good news for most of you:  Only those who did not do the character word for December will have the choice to do this.  Those who did submit the writing assignment for December do not need to do this; they have received a free "pass" on this.

*Using effective problem solving and decision-making processes
*Doing one's best in all endeavors
*Managing conflict in productive ways

DIRECTIONS (follow carefully):
*Put a
header at the top of your Word document.  Include your name, period, and date in the header.
*Include the title under your header with a font size between 18 and 28 (in this case, your title should be "Decision Making" or "Problem Solving").
*You may use any of the
five prompts below to complete your writing:

       1) Provide your own personal definition of decision making and/or problem solving.  You may use the ideas provided above, but be sure to use your own words.

   2) Explain what
decision making and/or problem solving means to you (why is it important, what would Milbank and/or our school be like without it?).

  3) Describe two or three real-life or possible real-life situations that serve as an example of the value (tell what happens or happened).

  4) Explain a current situation in Milbank or South Dakota where problem solving/decision making skills are needed.

  5) Why is it important to have strong problem solving skills?

*Your writing should be long enough to make your best points and show good understanding of what problem solving and decision making is all about.
*This is to be printed and turned in on or before Friday, January 28.  It can also be written on paper.
*Take time to proofread your paper before submitting it.
*This writing is worth 20 quiz points!  Take your time!
