Perseverance

Good news for most of you:  Only those who did not do the character word for April will have the choice to do this (this will be graded for you...whether you do it or not).  Those who did submit the writing assignment for April do not need to do this; they have received a free "pass" on this final character paper of the year!!!

DIRECTIONS (follow carefully):
*Put a header at the top of your Word document.  Include your name, period, and date in the header. Thanks for doing a great job with this in April!
*Include the title under your header with a font size between 18 and 28 (in this case, your title should be "
Perseverance").
*You
must use at least two of the six prompts below to complete your writing:

       1) Provide your own personal definition of perseverance.  You may use the ideas provided above (in orange), but be sure to use your own words and style.

   2) Explain what
perseverance means to you (what makes this trait important?).

  3) Describe two or three real-life or possible real-life situations that serve as an example of the value (tell what happens or happened).

  4) How do others (someone you know...famous athlete or actress, family member, friend, etc.) show this
perseverance

  5) Has there ever been a time when you have needed to persevere? (Think of the "dude" that came to speak and ride bike for us. He is the guy that jumped over Mr. Townsend and Jeffery Trapp with his trick bike.  He showed perseverance in many ways.)

6) Think about your future. When might you need to show perseverance?

*Your writing should be at least two strong paragraphs (this is NOT to be very long; maximum font size limit is 14).
*I am going to grade on how well you have PROOFREAD this paper.  If you have lots of little mistakes, your grade will be very low.  This is one paper that you should have a friend or teacher read (to find mistakes) before printing!

*This is to be printed and turned in on or before Thursday, May 19.  It can also be written on paper.
*This final writing is worth 15 quiz points!  Take your time and do it correctly!!
